Gay movies sexual
Hi, gay content!
Pride Month is underway, and we’re bringing you ten must-watch movies that feature explicit gay scenes. But we’re not just talking NSFW lgbtq+ sex scenes. We’re talking important lgbtq+ movies from the 2020s that are destined to turn into queer classics. The 2020s turned up the heat on queer cinema. Occupied frontal nudity and unsimulated sex scenes aren’t just for erotic indies anymore. Even big named actors and studio-backed productions are waking up to the fact that the male body is beautiful and nothing to be ashamed of. (See the new playlist with these full uncensored scenes here!)
Keep scrolling for Matt Bomer’s penis in the critically acclaimed Boys in the Band remake, naked teen soldiers in the shower together in Moffie (two of them have confusing desires for one another, spoiler), an actual jerk off scene in The Prince (complete with mind-altering cum shots), twin brothers having sex with each other in Saint-Narcisse (it’s the similar actor playing two people, relax), a bunch of hung Israeli swimmers showering in The Swimmer, Billy Eichner’s groundbreaking R-rated romantic comedy, Bros, and so much more.

These days, queer movies come in all shapes and styles, from handsomely mounted biopics (“Milk”) to kid-friendly rom-coms (“Love, Simon“). That’s a good thing; you want queer art to enjoy variety and novelty, and appeal to all audiences in the LGBTQ community. But sometimes, you want something very specific from a queer film; you want it to be sexy as hell.
When queer movies started bubbling into the mainstream in the early ’90s via movies like “Philadelphia,” they tended to be slightly sanitized, lacking much in the way of physical depictions of intimacy. (In “Philadelphia,” Hanks’ lead character famously never kisses his partner.) That’s changed as the years have gone on. Thanks to films love “Brokeback Mountain,” there’s now a ton of modern examples of queer films that aren’t bashful about their leads getting it on. But there’s a longer history of sexy queer cinema that goes back well before the ’90s, even if many of those movies were made from independent creators and were little seen.

If it feels a bit like a CW version of an after-school special, that's no mistake: Teen-tv super-producer Greg Berlanti makes his feature-film directorial debut here. It's as chaste a love story as you're likely to see in the 21st century—the hunky gardener who makes the title teen question his sexuality is wearing a long-sleeved shirt, for God’s sake—but you know what? The queer kids of the future need their wholesome entertainment, too.

A gay fantasia on Elton themes. An Elton John biopic was never going to be understated, but this glittering jukebox musical goes way over the top and then keeps going. It might be an overcorrection from the straight-washing of the previous year's Bohemian Rhapsody, but when it's this much fun, it's best not to overthink it.
